Shopping in Sligo
A short 12 minute drive from the village of Strandhill is Sligo town, the “Shopping capital of the Northwest”. Sligo is a great choice for that one-day shopping expedition and once your legs are too tired to shop any more, you can make your way back to the tranquility of Strandhill and unwind.
The town itself boasts a mix of excellent indigenous shops and well known multinational outlets. The centre is cohesive, comprimising quaint, easy to access interconnecting streets and side lanes, equally suited to those who are short of time or those who wish to meander. The two shopping centres in the heart of the town, Quayside and Johnston court house many multinational brands and enhance Sligo’s attraction as a shopping destination. Adjacent streets have a wide selection of shops offering a choice of everything and anything.
In the Erin Quarter of the town, redevelopment is well underway with plans in place for several new shopping outlets and additional parking facilities which will ensure that visitors and locals alike will continue to enjoy the authentic charm of one of Sligos oldest shopping arenas.
Along the riverside, east of the town centre, Cleveragh retail park hosts other well-known outlets, and Carraroe Retail park five kilometeres outside the city offers even more choice.
