In 2011, 45 cyclists took part in the first Equinox Cycle from Dublin to Galway in under 12 hours and in doing so raised over €17,000 for Temple Street University Hospital and Headway.
This year the Equinox Charity Cycle is a “spin” from Howth Harbour in Dublin at dawn (7:15am) to Strandhill, Sligo by dusk (7:15 pm) on Saturday the 22nd September. The cycle is open to all ages and there will be scheduled stops along the way for food and drink with the aim of catching the sunset in Sligo that evening.
Mark Rohan, London 2012 double Paralympic gold-winning hand cyclist is an ambassador for the cycle and will be taking part which is a huge honour!
So show your support for the charity’s dedicated fundraisers and give them a warm welcome at the cannon as they arrive at 7pm on Saturday.
